OU Foundation's Pelvic Medicine Fund
Dear Friend of the Foundation,
Thanks to your past support, OU Pelvic Medicine Fund works to create a dialogue on women's pelvic health, raising awareness and developing educational programs for debilitating pelvic conditions that affect 1 in 3 women in Oklahoma. In the past year we have:

  • Delivered free community educational workshops.
  • Provided prevention education and treatment options through our educational website.
  • Conducted and presented original research at major scientific conferences nationally and Internationally.
  • Developed new health educational materials tailored for special populations with specific literacy needs.

We have been recognized for pioneering programs that improve women's lives.
We have been recognized for empowering the community physicians by offering them educational opportunities.
We have been recognized by cutting edge research that is presented nationally and internationally.

There is a long list of things we can do to improve the health of Oklahoma women:
□ We can Support curriculum development and expansion of pelvic health education in public high schools ~ $5,000
□ We can Sponsor health materials distribution in 2 public high schools ~ $1,000
□ We can Train a peer community health educator ~ $50 each

□ We can Sponsor programs in low income senior residential communities ~ $5,000
□ We can Fund distribution of health education materials  ~ $1,000
□ We can Train senior wellness educators to deliver pelvic health information to seniors ~$500 each

All these projects are not fundable through state or national funding sources.
This is where the Oklahomans have to care for Oklahomans.

At this time, more than ever, your contributions are needed to fund research performed at OU.  The small (but powerful!) staff at OU Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery needs your help! With your support, OU Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery will be able to broaden its reach to bring critical awareness and solutions to women of Oklahoma in need.

On behalf of OU Pelvic Medicine Fund, thank you for believing in all women, especially those in greatest need.

Yours in Pelvic Health,

S. Abbas Shobeiri, MD, FACOG, FACS
